Microsoft Windows Active Directory is prone to a remote code-execution vulnerability that arises because the application fails to handle specially crafted LDAP or LDAP over SSL (LDAPS) requests in a proper manner.

Once she’s on the corporate network, she wants to use establish a remote desktop session. Again she has to enter her Active Directory credentials to get access to her desktop. Does it ever stop? To check the password history for an Active Directory account when an end-user changes his or her password, the user must provide an AD password.

Sharing files and directories is an important part of interoperation, but while Windows’ Active Directory is based on the Kerberos protocols, the user attributes used by Windows differ significantly from the UNIX model. However SFU does allow Windows system administrators to work with UNIX users and permissions directly from Windows.

An attacker can exploit this issue to execute arbitrary code within the context of the affected application. Failed exploit attempts will result in a denial-of-service condition.

Windows Active Directory is a powerful tool to ensure server security but it is often too complex to be used by web administrator. You can now control the access level of each user by some simple clicks.
